- Groundwater vs. surface waterGroundwater comes from wells and is usually cleaner; surface water comes from rivers and lakes and needs more treatment, including filtration.
- Primary vs. secondary treatmentPrimary treatment settles out solids physically; secondary treatment uses microbes to break down the organic matter left behind.
- Provisional vs. full Class D water licenseA provisional Class D water license ($74, two years) lets you start without a diploma yet; the full Class D requires a diploma or GED.
